As a general rule, investors use the phrase sin stocks as more of a catchy bit of slang rather than any passing of moral judgement. However, some investors refuse to invest in areas which are in conflict with their morals and alcohol, tobacco and gambling can on occasion do just that. Whatever your stance might be, here is a little info on some of the sub-industries within this category to help you find trade setups or potential investments in areas that interest you. Brewing: Budweiser, Coors Light, Corona, Guinness, Miller Lite and Sam Adams are all brands distributed by brewers on this list. Examples of companies in this section include:

Casinos: Most of the companies in this section are small-cap companies but there are some larger companies including Las Vegas Sands, MGM Resorts and Wynn Resorts.

Gaming: These companies are involved with gaming (online gaming, gaming equipment manufacturers) but do not own casinos.Most of the companies in this section are small-cap companies.
Racing Tracks: Churchill Downs, Incorporated (CHDN) is the home of the Kentucky Derby and one of a half dozen publicly traded race tracks in this section.
Tobacco: The section includes some extremely large tobacco companies (Altria Group, British American Tobacco, Philip Morris and Reynolds American), smaller cigarette manufacturers, makers of electronic cigarettes and companies that provide tobacco services to these cigarette manufacturers.
