List of Publicly Traded Large and Mid-Cap Gold Mining Companies Listed on Major U.S. Exchanges
With operations spreading over six continents and dozens of countries, these gold mining companies have mines around the world. Most of these companies have a very specific focus on gold producing properties, although some of the larger companies also have additional assets such as copper mining assets. The publicly listed companies on U.S. exchanges are dominated by companies from Canada and South Africa. The only U.S. gold-mining company in this category is currently Newmont Mining Corporation based in Colorado.
These companies are categorized by the following market capitalization levels:
- Large-Cap Stocks: Market cap over ten billion dollars
- Mid-Cap Stocks: Market cap over two billion dollars but under ten billion
