Publicly Traded Aluminum Companies

U.S. Exchanges

List of Publicly Traded Aluminum Companies Listed on Major U.S. Exchanges

Aluminum companies can be separated into two separate simplified categories: producers of alumina and primary aluminum and producers of aluminum based products.

The process of creating primary aluminum involves refining bauxite (an aluminum ore) into alumina (a white powder) which is then smelted and transformed into aluminum metal. Many of the leading producers of primary aluminum are also leaders in aluminum fabricated products. Many of these companies have bauxite mines, refineries and smelters which aid in the production process.

The second category involves companies that create aluminum based products. These aluminum based products are used in an increasing amount of automotive and aerospace applications along with numerous other industrial applications.
