List of EAFE ETFs on U.S. Exchanges

ETFs in this category are comprised of companies from Europe, Australasia and the Far East (EAFE). Australasia consists of Australia, New Zealand and nearby islands while Japan and Hong Kong are two common Far East countries represented in this type of ETF. Companies from the United States are excluded from these ETFs, as are companies from Canada and emerging market countries. Here are a couple of additional notes on EAFE ETFs:

When the United States is excluded from global ETFs, Japan and the United Kingdom tend to carry the most weight of any of the countries. This is true with these ETFs as well with these two countries each making up around 18 to 20 percent of many of these ETFs.
The range of number of stocks within each ETF varies by a substantial margin. On the low end you have the ProShares ETF (EFAD) focusing on companies that have raised dividends for each of the last ten years. This ETF is comprised of approximately 50 companies. On the high end there are a couple of iShares broad focused ETFs (IEFA, HEEM) comprised of approximately 2,500 companies.
