These ETFs include companies in the telecommunication sector which includes companies providing telephone and internet products and services. Both diversified telecom and wireless companies are included. The primary difference between these ETFs is the iShares ETF (IXP) includes telecom companies from the United States and the SPDR ETF (IST) excludes these companies and has a purely international focus.
