List of on Global Clean Energy ETFs U.S. Exchanges

In the ever expanding ETF universe, investors have several different types of global clean energy ETFs to choose from. Not only are there a handful of broad clean energy ETFs, there are also ETFs that specifically focus on solar, wind and companies with low carbon emissions. Investors who feel passionate about clean/alternative energy and those who believe the world will continue to need/demand alternative fuel sources are drawn to this category of ETFs. A few extra notes on these ETFs:

  • As a collective whole, companies from the United States and China have the most representation in these ETFs. It is common for the United States to make up between 30 and 50% of the total weight of the ETF.
  • The normal range of number of companies within these ETFs is between 30 and 100 with the exception of the low-carbon ETFs which range from 900-1300.
