List of Publicly Traded Molybdenum Mining Companies Listed on Major U.S. Exchanges

Molybdenum is used in numerous industries including aerospace (aircraft parts), defense (missile parts), nuclear power (infrastructure), energy (petroleum refining) and the chemical industry (heat and corrosion resistant materials). However, molybdenum’s main use is in the steel industry. When molybdenum is used as alloying agent with steel it forms ultra-high strength steels.

Most mining companies do not have mining projects exclusively focused on ultra-high molybdenum (although there are some). A great deal of molybdenum is mined by diversified mining companies and to a lesser extent by smaller mining companies who mine this metal along with other metals during the course of their mining operations.
