Most of these companies are based in the United States and as a general rule they own quite a few radio stations spread out over numerous markets. They often do not focus on a single format but rather own radio stations that span a variety of music genres as well as talk, sports and/or other topics. While most of the companies do not target a specific demographic there are a few that do, which will be noted on the list below.
