List of Publicly Traded Large-Cap Agricultural Chemical Companies Listed on U.S. Exchanges

Agricultural chemicals play a critical role in helping farmers and growers increase their crop yields, protect their crops and provide higher quality foods. There are three main fertilizers: nitrogen, phosphate and potash, which are vital nutrients to crop development.

  • Nitrogen – Plant nourishment, speeds plant growth and key component in chlorophyll
  • Phosphate – Early crop development, root development and aids in photosynthesis
  • Potash – Plant growth and protection

Some of these large-cap companies mine and produce all three of these key nutrients while others focus on only one or two. There are also chemical companies that manufacture and distribute a wide-range of herbicides, insecticides and fungicides which growers use to protect their crops.
