List of ETFs Focusing on Israel Listed on U.S. Exchanges
There are two ETFs on U.S. exchanges focusing on Israel which are quite different from one another.
- The iShares ETF (EIS) is comprised of about 55 stocks and the index in which it is based upon is designed to represent approximately 85% of the entire Israeli stock market (based on market cap). The ETF historically has been weighted to the financial sector and many of the larger banks have represented a notable percentage of the entire ETF. The ETF has also been weighted towards Teva Pharmaceutical Industries which at times has represented nearly a quarter of the enter ETF weight.
- The Market Vectors ETF (ISRA) is comprised of a larger selection of stocks (approximately 120) and contains more small-cap companies. It also contains a number of Israeli-linked companies who derive a significant percentage of their revenue from activities in Israel. Instead of the financial sector, this ETF historically has been weighted towards the health care and technology sectors.
