List of Global Real Estate ETFs Listed on U.S. Exchanges

These ETFs are comprised of companies engaged in different activities within the real estate sector. Most of these companies can be classified into one of three categories:

• Real estate investment trusts (REITs)
• Real estate development companies
• Real estate operating/management companies

There are a few companies in a couple of the ETFs that fall outside these three categories (real estate services for example) but they only represent a small percentage of the ETF when they do appear. Many of these ETFs include real estate companies from the United States and a handful do not. When the United States does appear in the ETF it usually makes up a significant percentage of the weight, anywhere from 50% on up. When the U.S. is not included you see a more balanced weight between the most represented countries with countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and the United Kingdom usually having the most companies and largest weight within the ETF.
